Xuxa was honored at the PRODU 2024 Awards with the Honorary Icon Award . In an interview with Ricardo Morán, she reviewed the most significant moments of her brilliant career.
“It is a huge honour. I am very happy to be at these PRODU Awards. It does my soul a lot of good.”
“Since I was born, my mother called me Xuxa. But this Xuxa that everyone talks about, the queen of the short ones, through whom I won the affection of children, fathers, mothers in Argentina, and who also reached the entire Spanish-speaking world, I never imagined it.”
“I started when I was 20 and it was something that didn’t stop me. I wanted to do more and more and I didn’t know everything that was going on. When I was 23, I already had a show on Globo that started at 8am and ended at noon. People gave me the chance to do things that I didn’t know I was doing.”
“They told me to sing, I didn’t know how to sing but I did. They told me to make a movie, I didn’t know how to but I did. And I had the best-selling album in my country, and the most-watched movies. If you ask me what happened, I don’t know either, I was just doing things. I just wanted to play with the kids, be happy and that’s it.”
The 2024 PRODU Awards , the eighth edition of this event, are taking place in Miami from yesterday, Wednesday, October 30th , to Thursday, October 31st . The event is hosted by Jimena Gállego, Alan Tacher , Andrea Serna , and Ricardo Morán.
There are more than 130 categories that cover artistic aspects (acting and hosting), technical aspects (script, direction, production), content aspects (formats, genres, events) and marketing aspects (Marketing / CSR), thus covering different audiovisual proposals: television (open and cable), platforms, films for streaming and podcasts .
Another moment of the gala is the 8 Honorary Awards that will highlight the careers of a host of leaders of our identity and culture: Sofía Vergara , Verónica Castro , Xuxa , Maite Perroni , Úrsula Corberó , Miguel Varoni , Pablo Motos and Javier Hernández Bonnet .
In addition, major prizes will be awarded: Entertainment , Fiction , Audience Phenomenon , Podcast and Podcast Host .
