Spanish actress Úrsula Corberó, known for her roles in La Casa de Papel, El cuerpo en llamas, Snake Eyes, and Física o Química, was awarded the Honorary Identity Recognition at the 2024 PRODU Awards because during her career, she has touched the hearts of so many people, beyond borders and even language, but without ever losing her Latin essence.
“I am very excited about this award; it makes me very happy. It reminds me how lucky I am to be able to pursue my passion and my vocation. And it also gives me the strength to continue crossing borders, meeting new people, getting to know new cultures, learning new languages , and being happy doing what I do.”
“Of all the characters I have played, I can’t choose a favorite because they all leave a lesson. But if I had to choose, perhaps the character I am most proud of is Rosa from El Cuerpo en Llamas. I think it was the first time I felt that the entire weight of a project fell on my character. I was used to doing things that were a bit more choral, and I feel proud because it was hard, because I was filming every day for six months, and because I enjoyed the creative part as well.”
“I had a really bad time in Snatch because I had said I spoke English to get the role because I thought I wouldn’t be chosen and that wasn’t the case. I remember that the process was very hard because I didn’t understand anything the actors were saying or what the director was asking me to do.”
“When choosing a project, there has to be something that captivates me because it is a character that I don’t want to stop doing or because I don’t want to pass up the opportunity to work with that person, or because it is a script that has driven me crazy. In other words, I want to be part of it because I want to see it.”
The 2024 PRODU Awards , the eighth edition of this event, are taking place in Miami from yesterday, Wednesday, October 30th , to Thursday, October 31st . The event is hosted by Jimena Gállego, Alan Tacher , Andrea Serna , and Ricardo Morán.
There are more than 130 categories that cover artistic aspects (acting and hosting), technical aspects (script, direction, production), content aspects (formats, genres, events), and marketing aspects (Marketing / CSR), thus covering different audiovisual proposals: television (open and cable), platforms, films for streaming and podcasts.
Another moment of the gala is the 8 Honorary Awards that will highlight the careers of a host of leaders of our identity and culture: Sofía Vergara, Verónica Castro, Xuxa, Maite Perroni, Úrsula Corberó, Miguel Varoni, Pablo Motos and Javier Hernández Bonnet.
In addition, major prizes will be awarded: Entertainment , Fiction , Audience Phenomenon , Podcast and Podcast Host .
