JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leading space infrastructure company for the next-generation space economy, today announced the opening of a regional office in Warsaw, expanding its operations in Europe to deliver world-class space solutions to customers around the world.
Redwire’s office in Poland will provide technical characterization and design services, as well as assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) for the International Spacecraft Docking and Berthing Mechanism (IBDM). Redwire’s IBDM technology will enable autonomous spacecraft docking with the International Habitation Module (I-Hab) of the Gateway lunar space station, and iterations of this system could also support other Gateway elements, as well as low-Earth orbit (LEO) spacecraft and commercial space stations. Additionally, Redwire will partner with Polish universities, medical research institutions, and pharmaceutical companies to leverage the company’s pioneering capabilities in microgravity on the ISS.
With a view to acquiring local talent, Redwire has decided to hire Marcin Dobrowolski as General Manager of the Polish office. Dobrowolski has several years of experience in the space industry and a proven track record of leadership and operational achievements. Before joining Redwire, Dobrowolski held management positions at PIAP Space and Thales Alenia Space. He also has extensive expertise in mechanical engineering and space robotics, as well as experience in leading significant projects within commercial and government space projects.
“We are excited to expand our presence in Europe to meet the growing demand from international customers and build on the region’s heritage and expertise,” said Redwire President and CEO Peter Cannito. “Redwire’s new office in Poland will be a center for cutting-edge research and technology development, supporting critical systems such as IBDM.”
Redwire’s Polish office will help provide Poland with new opportunities to participate in European, American and global space programs. Reflecting Redwire’s broad and diverse portfolio, the company’s Polish office will operate across the civil, commercial and national security sectors. Redwire is honored to contribute to Poland’s rapidly growing space economy.
Redwire’s expansion builds on its existing European operations, which have over 40 years of experience in spaceflight, developing space platforms and innovative microgravity technology for ground-breaking programmes run by the European Space Agency (ESA). Building on its rich history of innovation and excellence, Redwire continues to support pioneering ESA missions such as Skimsat, a technology demonstration mission using Redwire’s European spacecraft, Phantom, designed for very low-altitude orbit; IBDM for I-Hab; and Proba-3, a mission consisting of two independent satellites to demonstrate precision formation flight technology and explore the solar corona.
