JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leader in space infrastructure for the next-generation space economy, today announced the opening of a regional office in Warsaw, expanding the company’s European operations to deliver world-class space solutions to a global customer base.
“Redwire’s new office in Poland will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and technology development, while contributing to critical systems like the IBDM.”
Redwire’s Polish office will provide specification and design, as well as assembly, integration and test (AI&T) support for the company’s International Berthing and Docking Mechanism (IBDM). Redwire’s IBDM technology will dock autonomous spacecraft with the Gateway lunar station’s International Habitat (I-Hab), and iterations of this system could support other elements of the Gateway, as well as spacecraft in low Earth orbit (LEO) and commercial space stations. Additionally, Redwire will collaborate with Polish universities, medical research institutions and pharmaceutical companies to leverage the company’s groundbreaking microgravity capabilities on the International Space Station.
With a primary focus on recruiting local talent, Redwire has hired Marcin Dobrowolski as General Manager of its Poland office. Dobrowolski brings over a decade of experience in the aerospace industry, with a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence. Prior to joining Redwire, Dobrowolski held leadership roles at PIAP Space and Thales Alenia Space. Dobrowolski has deep expertise in mechanical engineering and space robotics, as well as experience leading large projects for commercial and government space programs.
“We are excited to expand our presence in Europe to support increased demand from international customers and build on our existing heritage and legacy in the region,” said Peter Cannito, chairman and CEO of Redwire. “Redwire’s new office in Poland will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research and technology development while contributing to critical systems like the IBDM.”
Redwire’s Polish office will help create new opportunities for Poland to participate in European, U.S. and global space programs. The Polish office reflects Redwire’s broad and diverse portfolio and will pursue civil, commercial and national security-related activities. Redwire is excited to contribute to Poland’s growing and dynamic space economy.
The expansion builds on Redwire’s existing European activities, which have a heritage of over 40 years in spaceflight, developing spacecraft platforms and innovative microgravity technology for ground-breaking programmes of the European Space Agency (ESA). Leveraging its heritage of innovation and excellence, Redwire continues to support ground-breaking ESA missions such as Skimsat, a technology demonstration mission using Redwire’s European-built Phantom spacecraft designed to operate in very low Earth orbit; the IBDM for the I-Hab; and the Proba-3 mission, a dual satellite mission that will demonstrate precision formation flying and study the solar corona.
