PARIS-Jinan Communications Office:
“The culture of springs reflects the spirit and the very special character of Jinan. Through this project, we are strengthening the friendship between China and France a little more.”
A cultural showcase to strengthen Sino-French ties
On November 26, 2024, Paris hosted the inauguration of the Jinan International Communication Center and the cultural exhibition on spring water, themed “Opportunity in China, the source is in Jinan” . Organized by the Information Office of the Jinan Municipal Government, this event highlighted the unique heritage of this Chinese city while strengthening its international visibility.
A bridge between Jinan and Europe
The inauguration of the Jinan International Communication Center marks a major step forward in Sino-European, and more particularly Sino-French, cultural exchanges. Designed as a platform for exchanges, this center aims to promote the cultural and economic wealth of Jinan throughout Europe.
The exhibition that followed brought together influential figures from the worlds of politics, business and art. These exchanges highlighted the preservation, innovation and transmission of spring culture, the emblem of Jinan, and its role in the city’s influence on a global scale.
In his speech, Mr. Sun Shihui, Vice Minister of Publicity of Jinan, said that “Springs are the soul of Jinan. This center will be a unique way to share our history and build ties with the rest of the world in general and Europe in particular.”
A celebration of Sino-French cultural ties
As part of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China, this event has given new impetus to cultural exchanges. Mr. Tang Ji, vice-president of the Xinhua News Agency Bureau in Paris, in turn affirmed that “The culture of springs reflects the spirit and the very special character of Jinan. Through this project, we are strengthening the friendship between China and France a little more.”
Christian Namy, a former French senator, hailed Jinan as a model of sustainable development, while Lyazid Benhami, vice-president of the Association of Franco-Chinese Friendships, stressed the importance of this exhibition for the French public.
An immersive and artistic experience
The exhibition charmed visitors with immersive projections, musical performances at the hang and photographs of Jinan’s famous springs. This success reinforces Jinan’s ambition: to become an influential international metropolis while sustainably cultivating Sino-French friendship.
