FiloSofía Breaks Musical Boundaries with its New Album Ba-Clave

Santo Domingo, Rep. Dom. – FiloSofía, the international salsa band that has conquered hearts in Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe, presents its second album entitled “Ba-Clave”. After the success of its first album, FiloSofía returns with an innovative musical proposal that fuses Balkan and Caribbean music.

Sobre “Ba-Clave”

While FiloSofía’s first album was looking for a very traditional sound, “Ba-Clave” tries to find the band’s true voice. Using typical Balkan rhythmic patterns and instruments such as the accordion, this album is a showcase of the fusion between cultures. The title track, “Ba-Clave”, is a clear example of this mix.

The album features original compositions and arrangements using traditional Croatian folk instruments, such as the tambura brač in the guajira “Flor.” Additionally, FiloSofía has experimented with combining traditional genres such as the pilón with hip hop, using unusual instruments such as the talk-box in “El Trufero.” Another gem of the album is “Tanto Tiempo,” a danzonet arranged for big band that evokes the sound of Cuban streets of yesteryear, perfect for a film soundtrack.

The promotional track, “Adiós Saturno” , is one of the album’s standout songs. Previously released as a single, “Adiós Saturno” has received great acceptance from the public.

Featured Songs

  • “Adiós Saturno” and “El Teatro del Absurdo”: Two previously released singles that have received great acceptance.
  • “El Vicio”: A mix of guaguancó and Latin jazz.
  • “Paranoia”: With a touch of film noir and an impressive speaking performance.
  • “El Cuarto Catorce”: Noted for its unusual harmonic progression and unconventional lyrics.

From the first song, “Intro,” it is clear that “Ba-Clave” is designed to get people dancing, offering high-quality production, flawless performance, and an explosion of energy and innovation.
