Edgardo “El Bambino” Otero Lugo, a prominent vocalist with more than four decades of experience in music, is pleased to announce the release of his new music video titled “Cuando Me Miras” . This single is another example of his unmatched talent and passion for music.
Edgardo began his musical career with the help of renowned musician and composer Edwin Crespo, author of the famous musical piece “Jubileo 20” by the Sonora Ponceña of Puerto Rico. In his hometown of Vega Baja, he joined the Ética orchestra in 1975, with which he achieved numerous local successes. In 1981, he joined the Los Rukanos orchestra, performing in various venues.
With the rise of merengue, the orchestra became La Sensación del Merengue. In 1985, Edgardo received an offer to record for the first time with Mr. Chuky Acosta of Conjunto Quisqueya, in a project for Mr. Nelson García. Later, he joined Mr. Ángel Rivera’s La Nueva Época orchestra, with which they won the first tournament of orchestras in the northern area of Puerto Rico.
In the 90s, Edgardo was part of a project in Puerto Rico with Mr. Wilfrido Vargas, recording “Proyecto Puerto Rico”. In the late 90s, he returned to his salsa roots with the Éxodo orchestra and later joined Mr. Rafy Santana’s Homenaje orchestra. In 1998, he received an invitation from Mr. Charlie Collazo (RIP) to audition with the Corporación Latina orchestra of Puerto Rico, beginning a new chapter in his career with numerous performances throughout the island and the United States.
After a break from his participation with the Corporación Latina orchestra due to his military service between 2006 and 2010, Edgardo returned to lead the orchestra in 2011. In 2012, he had the good fortune to perform at Puerto Rico’s famous National Salsa Day. In 2019, he ended his participation with the orchestra and moved to the United States, where he has performed several times as a soloist in Central Florida.
Currently, Edgardo has released four singles: “En Aquel Viejo Café”, “Por Nada”, “De Donde Llegaste Tú” and his most recent hit “Cuando Me Miras”. With arrangements by Kevin Figueroa and composition by Jorge del Valle, this new single promises to conquer the hearts of his followers and continue his musical legacy.
