Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The talented Venezuelan singer Dessireé Richard presents her first single, “Tarde Lo Conocí”, with which she seeks to leave her mark on the world of bachata. This emotional reinterpretation of an iconic vallenato classic, originally composed by Omer Geles and popularized by the legendary Patricia Teherán, now arrives with a fresh and renewed touch in bachata, highlighting Dessireé’s unique style.
Since her childhood, Dessireé has been deeply connected to art and music. “At the age of 9, I sang for the first time in public, and from then on I knew that music would be my path. I have always felt a special connection with Patricia Teherán’s songs, and when the opportunity to record this song arose, I knew I had to pay tribute to her. Although there was some resistance at first, I managed to convince David Paredes, a prominent Dominican producer, to give it a bachatero twist,” says the artist.
David Paredes, who comes from a family with a rich musical tradition in bachata, brought his vast experience to fuse the feeling of vallenato with the essence of the artist. “The result is a fresh and authentic sound, which transmits my emotions and the depth of the lyrics. Bachata allows me to connect with the public in a unique way,” says Dessireé.
“Tarde Lo Conocí” is already making a notable impact on Venezuelan radio and is beginning to make its way into the Dominican market. The artist plans to go on a promotional tour of the Dominican Republic, in addition to recording the music video that will accompany the song. With her sights set on establishing herself as one of the most important voices of the genre, Dessireé seeks to earn the respect of the great exponents of bachata and position herself as an international ambassador of the genre.
